I did a quick test and the preheat absorbs almost 5kW. Since the charger delivers only 2.3 kW, part of the energy is taken from the battery, which falls below 100%, even if it is connected to the mains and in any case after 2 or 3 km with temperature around 0 the starts Motor to compensate for the absorption of the heating resistances, and the autonomy is significantly reduced (just over 20 km in real terms with an estimated autonomy at 100% charge of 40 km compared to the "summer" 55 km). I'll do another test to make sure that when the charger is connected, the battery discharge is actually due to the absorption of the heater.

what I've heard and read, the battery never runs out,
keeps its 40% because it always starts with electricity and the car doesn't know
how often you do the car between off and on.

Yes low temp is affecting the range anso because heating takes energy from battery. I cannot test since I'm living in Milan and we have lockdown.

Sorry for english.
Makes no sense to use petrol to charge battery so even if it can work in hybrid serial from what I could test in the last days if you enable e-save it keeps battery around 40/50% and stops there.
Then if you drive down from a mountain for 40km in B probably you'll charge the battery to full. -
It has no sense to buy a plugin for having the battery charged by petrol, it's not a full hybrid car!!
This car must be charged anytime is parked and in lon g runs just used as a norma car, the software will keep some energy for starting the car and for providing extra boots when needed but using the e- save function to keep the battery charged when is not needed has no sense. -
I found that using B on normal road is increasing consumptions

anything providing energy will work, I tested some adapters and all of them works without issues.
One similar to the one linked from ebay was bought at a very cheaper price on Aliexpress. One consideration, any cable with more that 16A mono does not make any sense for a captur; the weight will be much higher and also the bending angle will be terrible.

No it just use battery to heat the car. I got an Intens since last week and unfortunately we are actually in lockdown here in Milan but believe me air conditioning use the traction battery and mileage will suffer of if you use it in winter. I just had few time to check but this is what happens.
When it's in charge energy is taken from the charger so you can switch it on without problems even remotely from the app (a very bad piece of software).
